My counselling practice supports both individuals and couples. I offer face-to-face sessions in Colchester, telephone counselling, as well as online sessions via Zoom.
Following several years of face-to-face work, I felt that it was important also to be able to reach clients whose physical disabilities prevented them from travelling to a counselling centre, those whose mental health problems made it challenging to go out, those who might be recovering from an operation, or clients who may have started face-to-face work and then relocated to another part of the country or moved abroad.
Telephone and video counselling is an easy and accessible way to engage in counselling from the comfort of your own home. You will need a private space so that you can talk with me freely. Likewise, I will ensure a private and confidential space from which I will speak with you. I specialise in supporting clients through bereavement, including the anticipation of death, and particularly have experience supporting parents who have experienced baby loss at any stage of pregnancy.
In addition, I am experienced at supporting clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, suicide, trauma, relationships, long-term conditions, and workplace challenges. I am also able to support clients who are already receiving treatment for mental health conditions.
Client problems are rarely singular. We often struggle with a combination of difficulties, all of which are appropriate to bring to counselling. Experiences of the past can also influence our lives in the present and, as appropriate, I work with clients to explore current problems in the context of previous experiences.
I help couples explore and enhance their relationships. Regardless of whether the couple stays together or separates, counselling can help them work towards an amicable outcome that is in the best interests of everyone, particularly if there are children involved.
Each session lasts for 50 minutes and is usually held at the same time each work. I can offer flexible session times for clients who cannot commit to a fixed time each week.
Session fees are £50 per session for individuals and £60 per session for couples for in-person face-to-face work. Fees for telephone or Zoom sessions are £40 for individuals and £50 for couples. Couples counselling is offered either in-person or on Zoom, rather than by telephone.
Concessions are available for trainee counsellors who wish to access their own counselling or those who would like to work with me in a supervisory capacity.
